My Dearest Sweetheart
I was glad to receive your nice card this morning. It's too bad you ran out of gas twice on the
way, but it could have been three times or else even four so that would have been worse if anything.
Abe and I went to Santa Rosa last night and stopped at Novelli's and at Bud's. It sure was strange to get
to Santa Rosa - I wasn't a bit thrilled - only very lonesome for you. I wished all my might that you were with me but that didn't do any good - it only made me more
lonesome - so we left and wen to Guerneville.
I don't know how much results we got this week - but I sure have worked hard. I will "count the chickens"
Saturday.
I only wish it were possible to be down there so you and I could drive back together. I'd give a lot for
that priveledge.
Would you call me when you arrive in San Francisco on your way home - if you will do that I will drive down
to meet you halfway.
Also if you have time, drop me a line (Air Mail?) so (I can count the hours) I will know about when to
expect you.
I'm too lonesome to be sleepy, though it's about midnight now. Winnie is under the desk at my feet - I can
pat her on the head and I guess she knows who I am thinking about and
Love
Marino
