My dearest Sweetheart:
I was glad to have the opportunity to talk to you today and then disappointed not to
receive your letter when I came in tonight. It should be here in the morning mail.
This is one of those evenings when I seem to have so much time to miss you and to long for you. I wanted
very much to come up to see you tonight. Only to sit by you and hear your voice in my ear - to be near the girl I love. There are a great many reasons why I love
you very dearly -- in fact there is every reason why I should and none why I shouldn't. You are and have always been a good girl - you want to live a clean and decent life --
you want to get ahead and you do not have some of the habits that some less desireable girls have -- for these and for everything worth while I love you.
It makes me very happy to know that I can do many things to make you happy - some things which carry possibly
a little self-denial on my part - which is really small when compared to the real pleasure and happiness they will bring to you.
It will make me supremely happy to do these things for you -- I love you very dearly and your happiness is something
I will guard very jealously. It will give me untold pleasure to devote my life toward being good to you -- working hard for you -- therein will I find my own happiness.
Somehow I am almost afraid to think of the next few weeks. If our plans should go wrong -- I don't know what I'd do.
Today a man called up to say that he had a prospect to buy our house. I didn't even smile when he told me and
I hope he doesn't make the sale. The shrubs are in and it looks nice. I just can't wait to move in and then - it will be wonderful.
I am rather tired but happy tonight knowing that we'll have a nice weekend together.
Yours with Love Forever
Marino
